Privacy policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

What changed on 12 October 2026: analytics now needs your consent, and the site is hosted on Cloudflare instead of GitHub Pages.

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics unless you accept them. We only handle personal data when you choose to contact us or accept analytics.

Who we are

The QA Guild is a brand used by a team of independent freelancers. It is not a registered company.

This website, theqaguild.com, is run jointly by two companies registered in Romania. Together they are the data controllers for the personal data described on this page.

For anything about your data, write to contact@theqaguild.com.

What this site collects

Nothing, beyond what is needed to deliver the pages, unless you accept analytics (see "Cookies and analytics" below). The site has no advertising, no contact form and no accounts. Its fonts, styles and script are served from our own domain, so opening a page does not contact any third party until you accept analytics.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare records the IP address of each visitor in its server logs for security and delivery. We do not have access to those logs. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Cookies and analytics

When you first visit, a window asks whether you accept analytics. If you decline, nothing is loaded and no cookies are set. If you accept, we load Google Analytics, a service of Google. It sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) and sends Google information about your visit: the pages you view, your device and browser, and your approximate location. We use it to see which pages are read.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. You can change it at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. If you decline after accepting, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted. See the Google privacy policy.

The only cookies this site asks for are the two below. They are set by Google Analytics, and only after you accept analytics. We do not set any other cookies ourselves.

_gaGoogle AnalyticsTells visitors apart, so visits can be countedUp to 2 years

Change your choice at any time:

When you email us

If you write to us, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use them to reply and to discuss possible work together. Our mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail).

When you book a call

The "Book a call" buttons open Calendly, a separate scheduling service. If you book, Calendly collects your name, your email address and anything else you enter, and passes the booking to us. See the Calendly privacy notice.

The site links to our LinkedIn page. Once you follow a link to another site, that site's own privacy policy applies.

We use the details you send us because you asked us to get in touch, and to take the steps needed before agreeing to work together. We do not use them for marketing, and we do not sell them.

For analytics we rely on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. Withdrawing does not affect what happened before.

By purpose, this is what we use and why. The rules are in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who sees your data

These services are based in the United States. They transfer data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

We keep emails and bookings for as long as it takes to handle your enquiry and any work that follows. Ask us and we will delete them sooner, unless the law requires us to keep them. Analytics cookies expire on their own after up to two years, or are deleted sooner if you decline analytics.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it or to hand it over in a portable format. You can also object to our using it. Write to contact@theqaguild.com and we will answer within one month.

If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP, or to the authority in your own country.

Changes to this policy

If the site starts collecting anything new, this page will say so before it happens, and the date at the top will change.
